SKYDIVE

Last night was so horrible. Me and Flo spent most of it discussing what we each wanted at our funeral. Fun. We also both really wanted to tell everyone we were doing it but we knew that both our mums would die of panic if we told them so we resisted. Woke up this morning feeling a little bit sick. Got picked up outside our hostel at 7:30 in the morning, kind of wondering why we paid so much money to feel like this. We each met the guy we were going to skydive with - mine was called Glen and was awesome, and then after a 2-minute safety talk, we got on the plane. It was fun and pretty scenic at first until we realised what we were going to have to do in a few minutes. Me and Florence said our goodbyes and then had to put up with loads of annoying jokes from all the actual skydive guys about how we were going to die and how I shouldn't worry because if I'm not attached to Glen then he's got the parachute so he'll be fine. FUNNY. They were so hilarious. It's definitely not remotely funny when you actually think you're going to die.

So...and while had gone by on the plane and we were way above the clouds now so we knew the deathly jump was close - I was at the front so going first appartenly. WHAT. So Glen told me to crouch down on the floor next to the open plane door which was scary enough as it was like a giant current sucking you out into the sky - terrifying. So yeah he told me to crouch down just to have a look at the view and then he just pushed me out!! AAHHHHHHHHHHH. That was pretty much the reaction as I tumbled upside down out of the plane so fast. It was MENTAL going through the air to quickly - my face was flapping all over the place it was really fit. It is seriously an indescribable feeling and so surreal whilst you're doing it. Then Glen released the parachute and we went much slower gliding through the air and I got to take my goggles off. It was incredible and there was such a nice warm breeze it was awesome. We also had the most amazing view of the beach and loads of sandy islands which I could now enjoy as we weren't shooting through the air at hunders of kilometres per hour anymore. I got to steer the parachute as well and do loads of cool turns it was wicked.

The beach seemed like it was so far away but suddenly it got really close really quickly and I had to lift my legs up to land which was actually really hard when you're harnessed down. Anyways, everything was all good and we landed safely on the beach. It was the most incredible feeling to have done it and we all got such a rush and couldn't stand still after we landed. It was definitely the scariest thing I've ever done in my entire life but the most exhilarating and exciting as well. The feeling was seriously indescribable and the fear on the plane a few seconds before you jump out is mental.

OH MY GOD. we are at the hostel a few hours later and we are still buzzing. We have been watching the videos of us doing it in the tv room they are amazing can't wait for everyone to see them. So funny. I look so rough.
