We woke up the day of our cruise feeling great as the sun was shining and it was really hot. Sadly this disappeared as soon as we set foot on the boat. But anyway, we met everyone (there were 28 of us) and then sailed off in The Boomerang. I have now learnt that sailing basically just means getting entirely soaked. It was all good fun though and we all helped the crew and even say some turles on the way. We spent the night in Hook's Point between the islands and we spent the rest of the day and evening having amazing food and getting to know each other over a lot of goon. Later that evening, the boat was renamed 'The Goonerang' as we are all so hilarious.
Had the worst nights sleep ever that night - I've never been so hot in my entire life I nearly died. I woke up after having been asleep for about an hour into this hot room with no escape - me and Flo were sharing a double bed and I was on the inside and it was horrendous and so claustrophobic I basically had a panic attack in the night and had that feeling you get when you can't hold your breath for any longer and someone pushes you underwater. Horrible. And you couldn't open the windows/door cos it was raining really badly. Oh dear. I somehow survived till morning. Hope you enjoyed that interesting story.
So the next morning we went to Whitehaven beach after being awoken by a fun sailing song. Playing over and over again. It was gorgeous - like an island paradise. Completely clear water and white sand. We say stingrays and baby-sharks it was wicked. So we hung out there for a few hours and then headed back to the boat. After an amazing lunch and after putting our stinger suits on (FIT) we went snorkelling - it was amazing seeing all the coral and we were constantly surrounded by millions of brightly coloured fish. It was incredible I have never done anything like that before. Wowzies. Spent another fun evening with everyone on the boat and it was one guy's birthday at midnight. Slept outside on the deck for half of the night with some others (until it started to rain) which was so nice and then I went back to join Flo inside and had the best sleep ever.
Woke up early to go snorkelling again. The reef was even clearer and we saw some massive fish. Amasing. Except some of them kept touching me which was disgusting. Then we sailed back to Airlie beach and even got some sun on the way! We're having a boat reunion tonight which should be good as we met some wicked people. It was an incredible trip really didn't want to get off the boat. Now, sitting in an internet cafe, me and Flo both still feel like we are swaying. Weee!
